My name is Nate Stanley and this journey of starting NTG Aerial Photo starts with my father George Stanley. George had a real passion for flight, at an early age he and his mother Altha had talked about buying a helicopter kit to build their own helicopter. Years later he managed to have the opportunity to work with a gentleman who owned a small Cessna plane, he allowed George to actually take the controls of the plane and learn how to fly.
Fast forward to when I came into the picture, at an early age my father started to share his passion for flight. I can remember getting those “air hog” air powered planes, as well as Estes model rockets. George and I also had multiple opportunities for flight such as flying down to Florida, flying small Cessna planes and a glider out of the Bar Harbor airport. While the pilot of the Cessna out of Bar Harbor took us around, George told the pilot he had flown before, so the pilot said ok well, here you go! giving the controls to my dad, towards the end of the flight the pilot told my dad he should really get his pilot’s license.
Moving to Boothbay, over the years my parents started taking me to Boothbay, where we later moved to and now call home. My dad had brought me down to Boothbay multiple times to go to air shows to see the Blue Angels, now if I didn’t already have the passion for flight before this, it certainly cemented my interest in flying.

Needless to say my dad was a huge influence in my interest in flying, we unfortunately lost George on January 6th 2022 when he passed away. I knew that I needed to keep that passion for flight going, so I purchased my first drone and became a recreational drone pilot, really just starting it as a hobby.
After spending 2 years as a recreational drone pilot, I decided it was time to embark on a new venture. A month of studying later I took and passed the FAA Part 107 test and became a Commercial Drone Pilot. With all my past expertise as a recreational pilot, flying throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Idaho and Utah it only made sense to start doing it to provide a service to help people see things from a birds eye view.

Every time I launch my drone there is always one thought in my mind “This flight is for you Dad.”
